PostSubject: [Chuunin Exams] First Phase - Myeong   Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:08 am

"You are lead to a door within the heights of the Lonely Tower. The man who leads you tells you to wait, count to ten and then enter the room. he walks off and leaves you alone to your own devices. True to your word you wait for ten seconds then travel inside. You find yourself in a large room room separated into two halves by a gaping hole in the centre of the floor. A narrow bridge crosses the 30 ft gap and a light wind blows through numerous large windows on either side of the room, a quick glance within the pit reveals it drops down into darkness but you can just make out a large set of spikes that would surely impale you if you were to fall down. Standing in front of a door directly opposite you is The Proctor, he smiles and addresses you. "Welcome participant, to the first phase of the Chuunin Exams. Your task in this phase is simple -ahem." he gestures to the door behind him. "You are to simply cross the room and enter this door -ahem." His grin turns wicked and he lowers his head to look at you from below his hat. "You will not be told of any traps and dangers that could exist in this room, it is up to you to decide how you cross, you must simply enter the opposing door within an hour, failure to do so will result in failing the exams - ahem." With that he turns and leaves through the door."

Well! Wasn't this exciting! Myeong couldn't stop grinning like a school girl as she chewed on a dumpling. The sweet treat was delicious and amazing! One of the best she's ever eaten in fact! The streets were full of amazingly tasty stuff like this! The entire village was just so freaking cool! It was floating about their heads just being bad ass. They even had samurai! She had only seen a samurai once as a kid, and they were her favorite! Even better than shinobi. Giggling with excitement, Myeong nodded to herself with certain. This was the least boring thing she's done all month! Her mind was just bustling and brimming with information and excitement. This was awesome! So awesome! "I can't believe I get to have so much fun and it's considered a test! I love being a shinobi!" she squealed loudly with joy, raising her hands into the air.

In all her excitement, she had missed what the man said. So now she was standing alone in front of a door. "He must have gone to find delicious food too!" she laughed as she reached out to push open the door. Myeong had I am an illiterate pig with no vocabulary missed what the man said, but there was only one way to go and that was through the door! She had been out there day dreaming for nearly five minutes! When she walked into the room, her eyes widened with the sight of the proctor's adorable little puppet. That puppet was just the best thing ever! Myeong wanted to grab it and hide it under her jacket so she could take it home! As she fantasied about stealing it, the thing spoke, saying "You sure took your time! I thought you had given up!" before going on to explain the rules and leaving.

Myeong stepped to the gaping hole and leaned over it, crouching down to stare. There sure were some sharp spikes hidden in the darkness down there! Why, Myeong bet those could kill someone flat. Grinning, she cupped her hands around her mouth. "Hello! Echo! Echo!" she shouted down into the hole, covering her mouth with a giggle as the echo began to circulate. Leaning up, her green eyes landed on the long narrow bridge. Maybe she should get to figuring that out? The man had said there were traps and stuff spread out through the area. Tilting her head, Myeong looked to the room, then smiled brightly. "That's complete bullshit!" she laughed loudly.

The third part of the exams was a fighting tournament. That was what everyone was excited about. That tournament would bring guests in and money to the village. It would also give the villages a chance to show off their shinobi's skill. So the more genin that made it to the end meant the more fights that would go on. These exams were basically ways for the nations to show off and gain reputation or respect. There would be more showing off of talented shinobi, and the tournament would last longer, bringing in more money for the village. So, the first part of the exam couldn't be too difficult. Especially with the set up being so simple. These exams were made to test shinobi and figure out if they were smart and strong enough to become Chuunin. Frankly, the only thing this section could be used for was figuring out traps and reaction time.

No, there was another thing. Ah! That must have been it. The test was to see if the genin were smart enough to avoid the traps in the first place! Myeong grinned as she took a step onto the narrow bridge. That must be it. As Chuunin they would be trusted with espionage missions, and they would have to be able to avoid traps or else be caught by the enemy. Crouching down, Myeong dug out a coin and began to softly roll it with her finger. "Vrooommmmmm" she muttered softly as the coin rolled along in front of her. She did it just lightly enough that it would stop when the ground rose slightly, or she would feel it shutter when it became indented. Whenever that happened, she simply stepped over the area and continued. The coin was light enough to not set off any traps as well. Myeong ran the coin into a few wire traps, however, the ridges of the coin always caught them before she set them off.

By the time she reached the other end, ten minutes had passed since she started moving. Staring out at the narrow bridge, she began to calculate her time. So, all in all, about sixteen minutes. Five minutes for when she was outside, less than a minute from when she was analyzing the situation and the ten minutes for when she was actually crossing the bridge. Tossing the coin up, Myeong grinned. She caught it and twirled to face the door before opening it. "Adorable puppet proctor! I'm heeeere~! Oh! By the way, is there anywhere I can buy something sweet with this change?"
