Helping the Less Fortunate [mission] Empty
PostSubject: Helping the Less Fortunate [mission]   Helping the Less Fortunate [mission] Icon_minitimeSun Dec 02, 2012 1:05 pm

The village seemed rather lively and busy today, people running around the market as if the forest was going to run out of fresh fruit. I was munching away on an apple while sitting atop a barrel, me and Rohim had been assigned to help an old blind man around to do a couple errands for more or less the entire day and as usual the pay was going to be sub par. After a game of rock paper scissors me and my white haired buddy decided that he would be the one to go pick him up, the old man was named Rojin and apparently was blind which would make this all the most...interesting. This type of mission was always a pain in the ass to do but in order to climb the ladder and get more powerful this sort of thing was required, after all even the kage's of legend had to start out catching stray cats. I would hop off the barrel and start walking around the area, whenever my teammate and the old man showed up I was rather certain he would make his presence known. He had a reputation for that sort of thing at least.

Helping the Less Fortunate [mission] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Helping the Less Fortunate [mission]   Helping the Less Fortunate [mission] Icon_minitimeSun Dec 02, 2012 1:21 pm

I was approaching where I had left Takoda on the barrels with an old, feeble man latched onto my left arm. He was about the same height as me, and the years had not been kind to him. Were you wondering how I got here? Well, about one hour ago..

I was in need of some cash, and some mission experience, so I had decided to leave my home in Elkwood to speak to the Tsurikage of Morigakure to pick up some work. Me and my best buddy Takoda were paired together, like usual, to help an old blind man around town to do his errands. A D rank mission. D. Rank. Mission. As we were walking away from the Kage's office and towards where the man lived, I had many things to say to my best friend. "This sucks! A D rank?! How could they do this to me? How am I ever going to become the kage if I'm stuck doing D ranks?!" This statement was followed by a long string of many more as we continued our walk. When we reached an area next to some barrels, we played Ro Sham Bo to decide who would have to go get him, and I lost. I began to walk towards his house while I muttered curses under my breath.

And now here we are, walking towards where I left Takoda, and he wasn't even there. Where could he have gone? Now knowing, I decided to call for him, "TAKODA! WHERE DID YOU GO?!" I yelled out at the top of my lungs. "WHAT? YOU'RE A HARE NAMED PO? NICE TO MEET YOU YOUNG WHIPPERSNAPPER! Oh ho ho, kids and their games.. he thinks he's a hare named Po!" The old man decided to respond to me. I smacked my forehead with my palm. This was going to be a long day.

I had been close by when Rohim got back and called out for me, apparently this old guy had an odd sense of humor or he was just a train wreck in the brain department. Though neither of us saw it we both smacked our foreheads at the same time followed by me muttering. "God help us..." I walked back over to the barrels and found my friend and the client and good lord was he a mess, almost no hair left other than the long goat beard he had on his chin and if he had eyes under the saggy lumps of flesh drooping from his forehead I sure couldn't see them. "Hey, so what sort of errands do we have with him today?" Being blind and unable to tell that I had addressed this to Rohim the old man responded, "Whats that? You gotta sort the air and play? No I'm fairly certain you two are supposed to help me to the pharmacy to pick up my medication." It was a rather odd way of figuring out what exactly we were doing today but in turn it also more or less proved that in addition to being blind and ugly as hell this guy could barely hear.

Helping the Less Fortunate [mission] Empty

My palm remained on my forehead as I listened to the rest of the conversation being held by the old coot and some imaginary audience. In a rage, I yelled out, "He was talking to me, you crazy old man!" But it was to no avail. The man just turned and kept walking on as he chuckled and muttered something about a banana and a cardboard box. I walked over to Takoda before we began following the weird man, and slammed my forehead into his shoulder, just because a regular face-palm was not enough. While my head was planted on hsi shoulder, I said, "This guy can't hear anything, he has no idea what he's saying.. Bear, how the hell are we going to finish this mission?" I then released his shoulder form the grip of my forehead and continued to say, "I always follow through on my commitments, especially for missions, but come on! This sucks!" We followed the old man through the market to the pharmacy. When we finally got there, after following this shuffling old man for nearly a mile (do you know how long it takes this guy to walk a mile?!). Anyway, we finally got to the cashier, and ordered his medicine. It had been nearly three hours already, but we still have to get back to the coot's old home.

It was apparent that my bud was at a point where his brain was being fried and it was easy to see why, I had only been around this old guy for a few minutes and could feel the headache building up and Rohim had been with him the better part of a half hour. That's when I got the idea on how to make this mission a bit more enjoyable. I reached deep in my pocket and pulled out two sets of ear plugs, a stupidly large grin on my face as at this point the only really dreadful part of the mission would be taking a year and a half to get to where we needed to go. Eventually we made it to the crowded pharmacy and picked up what seemed like a sampler of every freaking type of medication in existence which resulted in both of them carrying ten pound bags of pills all the way back. It took hours to get back just as it had getting here but at least our brain cells were safe from rotting out, I just nodded every now and then and agreed or laughed and it seemed to be enough to satisfy the elder. Almost back I anticipated finishing the mission and heading back to our house in Elkwood for dinner.

It was finally ending. The torture was finally. Ending. We began walking the old man back to his house. It was extremely slow, and taking forever, but we were on the way back. I don't think I had ever been this bored and disgusted with a mission in my whole life (Even though I've only been a Genin for a couple of months, and I've only really had like two missions before this). I was getting extremely antsy to get back and finish this crappy mission. I wanted to start working on my summons, not do this! This sucks! After about another hour of walking, we finally reached the old man's house. Afterwards, we walked back to the Tsurikage's office to turn in our mission. Finally. We were done.

I turned to Takoda to say goodbye, "See ya later, buddy. I'm going to go work on my summoning!" After noticing the confused expression I was given from my friend, I laughed and ran away towards Elkwood.
