[First Round] Neru vs Finnik

Neru had been given the results of his test and had passed the Second Phase. He was giving a sheet with all the contestants names written. He saw the remaining contestants, they were mostly unknown to Neru, except for Aeran, one of the remaining Uchiha. He seemed to be battling with a ninja called Takoda. "Hmm, interesting, I wonder how this Takoda person will last against an Uchiha." Neru thought. Skipping over a branch, he found his name. Neru's eyes quickly darted towards who he would be battling against. "Finnik, eh. Never heard of him. Let's see what kind of person he is."

Neru was then escorted to the location of the Sky Arena, he entered the long hallway towards the huge Sky Arena. The arena was huge and was nearly filled with people of all ages. He could also make out the judges and the pumpkin dude. He walked roughly towards the the centre of the arena, and waited for his opponent.

Finnik was given the results for his test soon after the second phase, but didn't even look at them. He knew he passed, but what he cared about was to paper passed out with it, saying the matches. He scrolled down it his finger, skipping the rules and finding his name. Neru.. Heh, I like surprises. He thought as he read his opponents name. He then rushed to the sky arena, not really caring about his supposed escort. He burst through the door leading into the arena with a loud bang, seeing his opponent in front of him. At first glance he could tell he was from the village of sea creatures, and the fact that he has a short sword on his side. He stood there a minute, observing the fact which are not of any importance to him. He then pointed his gloves finger at him, the steel plates on his head glittering in the light. The leather would make a slight stretching sound, which he took no notice of. He would then yell, so loud other Provinces might hear, "MY NAME IS FINNIK DOVAHKIIN, AND MY MOTTO IS EXTREEEEEEMMEEEE!!" He then simply waited for that to soak in, continuing his short.. loud speech, "AND I REPRESENT MORIGAKURRRRRE!"

Spectator Post: I sat in the stands watching as the next fight started, should be interesting though I was jealous. Finnik was by far not the most skilled shinobi from the empire in these exams and yet he had been matched up against the only contestant from the rebellion to pass to this point, which appeared to oddly enough be another adult. I just sat back in my seat in the stands to watch silently, one of these two might actually make it to a point of fighting me so assess their talents would be key.

Neru saw his opponent enter, a kid about the same height as Neru himself. He had a signature white hair, which Neru hadn't seen before in his life, except probably on old people. "So this is Finnik, Hmm" Neru thought. "He seems to look interesting eno-" Neru's thought was cut off by Finnik's obnoxious shout. "Ouch, the kid has some vocal cords" Neru thought while cleaning his ears with his index finger. At the same time, Finnik was pointing at him, and he heard that he was from Morigakure. After Finnik had finished with his annoying speech, Neru replied, "Hmm, well, it's nice to meet you Finnik Dovakhin. I'm Neru Hikari, from Fukamigakure." Neru stated as he slowly started walking towards Finnik, until he was about 2 metres away from him. "Shall we being?" Neru said as he smiled. The Proctor shouts "Begin". Neru quickly unsheathes his shortsword from his lower back and tries to cut Finnik's upper chest, near to his neck in a diagonal fashion, from top right to bottom left.

Finnik would soon bring back his finger as his opponent started walking towards him while talking, and Finnik's response was only a nod. Finnik thought his opponent had to do something that didn't involve walking towards someone when you have a sword, even before the fight. Ol'Pumpkin Head would shout out the order to begin. His opponent instantly pulled out his short sword and swung it straight at Finnik's chest, and since he made it obvious he was going to do so, Finnik responded to it with only a jump back. He would then start to charge chakra into his throat. That which led into him jumping on his hand and doing a back flip, he would do this once more, and finishing it off with him simply landing on his feet. Finnik used to be in a circus after all, the little show looking more than professional. He would then put his hands on the back of his head, throwing a cocky grin towards Neru. He had a plan in his head, which simply involved stalling time, which would be hard with such a aggresive opponent, Finnik still wondered why he got paired up against him.

Neru had missed Finnik by inches, as Fin jumped back, Neru didn't waste his chance to attack a second time. As Fin jumped back, Neru dashed towards him with his sword on his right arm, and tried to do another quick slash Fin had finished landing on his hand, he aimed towards his upperback. If he dodged yet again, Neru had a kick ready for him.

As Finnik heard footsteps rushing towards him as he started a backflip, his feet would go down in front of his opponent, letting his slashes hit air. Finnik would then lift up his legs and propelling himself forward almost immediately after, hoping to kick his opponent in his stomach and knock him down. Finnik would then put his legs down, jumping away to get some distance on his opponent, which led into running. Finnik would then stop when he was fifthteen meters away from his opponent, still charging chakra in his throat.

Neru was suprised as to why Finnik would jump towards him to attack with a shortsword in his hand that is mainly used for defensive stances. As Finnik tried to kick Neru towards the stomach, Neru quickly turned his sword in the opposite direction and blocked the kick with his sword, Neru was pushed back by a few centimetres as the kick wasn't very powerful. As Neru blocked, he sliced Finni's feet as his sword slid from bottom left to top right. With that slash, Neru started to charge chakra in his body, with his eyes and and his spine giving out light. He then expected Finnik to land in pain from his slash. Neru then jumped back by 2 metres.

As Finnik's feet touched steel, he would feel a the bottom of his feet get sliced open. He would feel blood flowing out, though it would only result in a quiet cry of pain. This wouldn't effect Finnik, it did hurt, but he would stay focused, and still run the opposite direction of Neru. He would stop when after he was five feet away, and instantly turn around on his toes. Facing Neru, his face would still be as it was at the beginning of the fight, serious. Finnik would then shout louder than any man before him, "FUS.. RO!" The chakra in Finnik's throat coming out through his mouth and towards Neru, in the form of a giant ball of wind.

When Neru jumped back, due to Neru injuring Finnik's feet, Finink's speed was slower than usual. Neru finished charging his chakra, and formed a gun like formation on his left hand with his index finger and middle finger pointed towards Finnik, as he landed, he then fired two shots of light rays that were sure to hit him. He saw Finnik turn but it seemed like the rays would hit in less than a second

Finnik would turn around to face his opponent, but faced bright beams that hit him in a instant. He suddenly felt a burning sensation in his chest as the beams hit, but that would only making him stumble a bit (since it's sunburns). He then stared at his opponent and went a along with his original plan. He would open his mouth, yelling, "FUS.. RO!" The chakra stored in his throat came out of his mouth in the form of a giant ball of wind which quickly made its way to his opponent.

The total distance between Finnik and Neru was 11 feet only. After Neru had shot his light rays at Finnik, he quickly dashed towards him until he was less a foot away, slid and kicked him using his right leg towards his lower chin. Neru had noticed Finnik charge something out of his throat when Fin said 'FUS', the kick to the chin made Neru redirect the attack towards the sky. Then after the kick, Neru stood up quickly with his knees, still bent a bit and grabbed Finnik using his left hand and holding it up, making sure he doesn't fire another one of those attacks. He then aimed his shortsword towards Finnik, with the tip pointing towards his neck.

OOC: I just calculated how fast it would take to reach you, since the distance was 11ft (3.3m)
and a normal Genin's speed is 15mph (6.7m/s) it would take about half a second to reach you, since you said FUS which would take a half a second or a second to say, I would be there. Just making sure you understand, if I'm wrong I'll let the attack hit me.
